Are you sure something did not walk on top of your corals to close them up like that ?

It is an infection that tends to go after zoanthids and palys. I've never figured out if it is a bacteria or a fungus, but it can spread quickly and will cause all of the affected polyps to essentially melt. There's probably no saving the ones that are infected already; I would suggest fragging off any of them that still look healthy (open) on the rock, dipping them in lugols solution (and/or possibly furan in case it is fungal), and keeping a close eye on them once they go back in the tank. I've also dripped hydrogen peroxide on colonies infected with that stuff before, with mixed results.

not closed up they are "covered" with something kinda looks like when a sea squirt (tunicate) stresses and sometimes dies i will remove it i have another tank plumbed into the same sump wondering if i should get it completely out of the water collumn or just "seperate" it from the others......

I'd guess either a bacteria or fungus...I'd try dipping in Melafix or Furan to see if it makes any difference but if it's anything like Zoa pox I would get that junk out of your system ASAP...

The white leftover nori is normal- its just the old chunk of seaweed starting to decay in the tank. Nothing to do with ich though. You cant see ich on a solid surface; it's only visible and white on the actual fish. Sorry about all the troubles this week.

You want to get the nori out of the tank before it gets like that...it's just rotting in your tank and fouling your water.
