Hello Everyone, Yes I'm 7 months new. I've been slowly learning about this hobby and have been doing a lot of reading. Currently I just have a 20 gal tank with about 15lbs of live rock and 4 fish, a few hermit's, and 2 snails. One of the snails is big and flat with a tiny hard shell in the middle. He came with a piece of live rock. My fish seem to be happy as well as my hair algae. Currently I'm looking to go bigger but cash is holding me back, so its slow going. But for now any advise I can get regarding the hair would be great.

To Reef Central You've got a pretty high bioload with 4 fish in a 20g tank. What kind of fish are they? Running some GFO will help lower phosphates which is what is fueling the hair algae growth. BTW, the snail sounds like a stomatella.
