ID Help Please
I've run into a few little critters in my tank and was wondering what they are. I think this is the dreaded Aiptasia and needs to be killed. Is that correct?
This looks like some type of snail or conch? It was hard to get a good picture due to it's size. It was crawling on the glass for awhile and then planted itself as high in the tank as possible and stayed there for a few hours. Basically right at the water line almost like it wanted to escape. It was gone this morning so I'm not sure where it got to. I'm assuming these are some type of polyp? |

I found this thing in my filter sock. Sorry for the quality, but my digital camera is about 100 years old and my iPhone wouldn't focus properly. It looked to me like it had tentacles at one end and a bunch of legs. It would stand up on it's back side if I touched it with a paper towel. Almost like an inch worm would.
Unfortunately, by the time I got my camera to take a picture, it had died. I think it was doomed anyway since I had already hosed the sock down with tap water. |

Do I need to worry about that green algae on my rocks? It's not going to take over the tank or anything is it?

Polyps are fine... People pay good money for them. They're likely a type of zoanthid.
Just watch the algae... It's hard to tell from the pic, but does it have leaves or look more like grass?

It's hard to say. It kind of looks like grass and some looks like a leaf. The algae in the first picture seems different than the stuff in the third picture that's on a different rock. I would get some better pictures of the algae, but I'm out of town this week for work.
