Saddleback clown aggressive?

Just looking for some feed back on experiences with the saddleback clowns? I'd plan to keep with a green clown goby, one green chromis, one bartletts anthias, lemon peel angel.

In a 55g you should have no problem

They should be okay. Mine fought with my coral beauty for a while, but then the CB stopped going to the clowns territory and everything was okay again.

Just wanted to bring this thread back for a few more responses....going to the lfs tomorrow. would a saddleback or b/w clown be less agressive?

I had a pair in a 65g, ended up getting them their own 30g tank. They were psychotically aggressive. Saddlebacks are NOT gentle souls; they may be fine when they're small, but when they mature, they'll claim that entire 55g for themselves and relentlessly pursue other fish. My pair bit me when I cleaned the tank, they were just... vicious.

IME Ocellaris clowns are fearless, curious, a bit goofy, might nip or chase a bit. Maroons are insanely nasty, they'll bite the hand that feeds them and draw blood. Saddlebacks are a bit smaller than maroons, but have the temperament of an angry pitbull guarding his yard. They're all worth keeping, but don't let those cute little faces fool you, they're extremely territorial and completely fearless.

I'd also say the same thing about tomato clowns. They're the meanest ones I've had. It's funny how no tank is complete without a pair, but what a pain they can become.

I've had these clowns draw blood from my fingers when cleaning tanks before. Yes, they can be aggressive.

I think clowns in general are semi-aggressive. It is hit and miss as to how aggressive they are.
