Skimmer foam...

I've been running this skimmer for a few months now and it's never done this before - why suddenly is it got all this foam around it, in the tank??

Looks to me like there might be a leak in the inlet piping joints between the venturi or pin wheel pump inside your tank. Clean the skimmer and pump to see if it continue.. I don't thinking it's something in the water, because if it was then you would be getting excessive foam in the collection cup.
