Looking to get th best bang for the buck on a sub $550 skimmer?

I am getting a nice tax return this year and am looking to replace my current BM Nac 6. I have a 220 total water volume system. I am looking for an in sump type. One I was looking at was the RO diablo 225
What other skimmers should I be looking at?
any input is appreciated,
John

have owned 2 octopus extremes & both worked well. put red demon pinwhell in older one & it rocked. one im using now is more cone shaped with diff sicce pump. just using it stock works great. though i think older body style works better

I have to say any of the SRO skimmers. Hard to beat that 3 year pump warranty. I have a 2000 and 1000 and like them both.

I'm looking at the sro 3000 space saver, I'm realizing that $500 may not cut it, I'm looking as high as the vertex170 realistically what do I need. The tank is a mixed reef 150g with a 55 sump chambered with chaeto and a deep sand bed, a 20 gal mangrove is tied on to the system. I have a moderate fish load. Im looking for the most skimmer I can get away with, but capacity to spare if upgrade to say a 220g display. But I realize that it's possible to get too much skimmer and have the skimmer underperform due to not enough bio load.
