Oceanic salt
I just purchased a small bag of salt that makes 5 gallons of water. I tested it and was very surprised that the numbers are not even close to what I have read about oceanic salt mix. Mag1280/Cal385/Alk9.

It just figured it would be closer to the numbers that I knew of.

Oceanic is awful.. slowly killed a few corals. Switched back to IO and everything is happy again!

I've tried many different salt mixes in the past and had bad luck with many of them accept for Instant Ocean and Instant Ocean Reef Crystals. All I use now for my reef tank is the Reef Crystals because it's got higher Ca/Mg/Kh than other salt mixes for my corals. Because of using it i still don't have to dose anything and I've got a heavily stocked tank with mostly LPS. I just do a 10 gal WC every two weeks and it keeps my Parameters in check. I've got a 40b with a 20 gal sump so a total of water about 50 gals ish.

I used Oceanic for the last 11 years...and something changed. I switched over to Instant Ocean and have fared much better.
