I run one on my FOWLR to combat cloudy water in AZ. If you feel it is helpful for your tank then go for it. Just make sure you have the recommended flow going through the unit.
Just a disclaimer: A uv is not a replacement for proper QT, and will not eradicate ich or other paracites from your tank.

If you already have a UV sterilizer that doesn't need additional plumbing, like Green Killing Machine for example I would keep it just in case, but not in the DT, if you have a bacteria bloom. It will help. If you plan a sterilizer that requires additional plumbing, I would definitely say, don't bother. Most likely you would never need it and it will just take place in your tank or sump. There are other methods to fight bacteria bloom, although UV is the easiest one. There are opinions that UV will kill beneficial bacteria as well although most likely it doesn't. The beneficial bacteria stay on the rocks and substrate so it is safe to use the UV sterilizer but most people don't.
