I have an established reef tank. Started getting this type of algae growth. What is it and how can I get rid of it. 60g cube w sump. T5 metal halide combo. Actinic lights on for an 1.5 hours solo. 30 min at 1pm. Full lights w t5 and halide on until 8pm then 1 hour of actinic only.

read our big algae thread in the nanos forum if you want, thats not hard to beat. pico reef pest algae challenge thread down low on the first page, its huge because of the number of cures. You can also use any of several known alternate methods...tangs, gfo nutrient stripping, regular manual removal, so many options. I like our way cuz its fast, cleaned in about a week. then you choose one of the prevention methods to work on your new looking tank lol
