hi does anyone have any information on what you can use as fertilizer for phytoplankton???
also where can i buy the fertilizer?

Depends on what kind of phytoplankton. Green alga like nanochloropsis can be grown with standard soluble Miracle Grow fertilizer from the home store (I use about 1/4 teaspoon in about 4 gallons). If you're growing diatoms, you're likely going to need a special fertilizer that contains silicate.

Florida Aqua Farms is your best bet for phyto-specific fertilizers.

If you're interested, they also sell a book called the Plankton Culture Manual, that has tons of info on growing phytoplankton, copepods, brine shrimp, rotifers and other small organisms used as food for culturing marine finfish and shellfish.
