Just put a new membrane in my R/O unit, how long should i flush it before it would be safe to use?

New reverse osmosis membranes come with a food grade preservative which saturates the membrane so that it does not dry out. This preservative is not harmful but none the less should be flushed from your system before you begin to consume the water produced by the new membrane. Flush the new membrane for 3 hours to be safe.

Thanks for the reply, i might get that water change done today after all, i don't think i'll be consuming the water though, I just want it to be safe for the fish.

10 to 15 minutes if it is dry, an hour if it is wet. During that time, don't rub you RO water through your DI.
