aquascaping question for new tank

I have a 75 gallon that we are starting up, hopefully very soon, seems like one thing after another delaying us. I would like some input on aquascaping. Can you give me your opinion on what you think works best with the rock. 2 islands with sand in-between or everything all connected or any other ideas. How high should I go with my rock? Thank you for everyone's input!

I suggest you try both and pick the one you think is better. I prefer uneven mounds with middle valley. I also like the middle valley to be diagonal (not straight from front to back) so that the two mounds look like connected when viewed from the front.

Wow!! Great thread. Many great structures and ways to construct them. I saved the thread for reference for when I build my aquascape. I have acrylic rod and brick pavers to build on.
