Center "brace" removal
Can I remove this stupid center brace? I don't think it is really bracing. When I bought the aquarium 25 years ago it had glass tops that fit in the ridges and lights that sat on top. Now it just is in the way.
Tank is made of half inch glass. Dimensions: 65" x 18" x 20" That brace/shelf is 16" wide. Thanks! |

Nope. I wouldn't. Glass could eventually bow then fail. You could replace it with something not as wide. Perhaps a stainless steel brace.

That is what I figured. Limits lighting options.
Thanks |

Brace almost certainly plays a structural role and the tank would self-destruct if you removed it.
