New Build!! 125g AGA with Dual Overflows

Hey there! so I scored a nice deal off CL all new in boxes still, it had been stored away nicely in a garage and was never brought to life. This is my first build from scratch because my current tank was matured and I bought it up and running with the live stock.

125g AGA tank with Glass Tops
Matching stand
Tunze 9010 protein skimmer
Aheim 1262 return pump
2 oceanic overflow kits
6 30lb bags of Aragonite sand
Spectra Pure RO/DI 90
Tonga Branch
5 gallon pale of oceanic reef crystals
Fiji Live Rock (about 60lbs or so including Tonga branch)
and a box full of unopened goodies like refractometer, aquarium gloves, large mag float scraper, thermometers and few other things

I managed to get it all for $700 so I was really happy about that =)

What is still needed for my build is:

Sump (just purchased a Ruby36)
Power heads - Looking for any input on these!
Adequate lighting, currently running an 48" Current Orbit Marine LED on my current setup up.

after doing some research I was happy to see most of the items included are still relevant with a mixed consensus about the skimmer depending on where I read, probably because they seemed to have evolved a lot since that one came out but I will at least try it since it came with the tank.

I may post pictures as it goes together, but I have will have some questions along the way.

My first question is, as far as getting this tank up and running the fastest is it possible to transfer my current live rock over with the new sand and maybe 50% of the water? there's probably only like 50lbs of it in there tops, also running a canister filter (yuck), then adding one new piece of dry rock per week to prevent any crazy cycling? I don't mind letting it run a full cycle I just haven't run across any good articles about transferring current set up into larger one.

With all the new rock (old dead) rock your tank will probably kick another cycle because of all the dead matter that is inside the rock. Just my 2 cents. I'm in your same shoes though I'm transferring from my 75 to my 90 and adding about 60 lbs of new rock and 50 lbs of new sand.

so you will let that tank cycle with the dry rock, then transfer live rock and fish over from old tank?
