Clownfish hosting anemone
I just bought a blue tip anemone yesterday and it was looking great. Today I woke up and it was top down in my sand. I tried to upload a picture but for some reason it won't work.
Any advice on what's going on? |

From what I've read they tend to move a lot to find their "sweet-spot." It may just be on the move. My condy squeezed itself between two rocks for a day or so and finally popped out to a place it's starting to prefer. Just keep an eye on it and if it continues to stay upside down then you might want to QT it and check parameters.

Low or high current? He may have toppled in the current and you caught him at the right moment. Or he may have tried to move and fell over when detached. I would watch it and see if it can right itself. If not try placing it on a larger rock with moderate current and lighting. It will decide from there where it wants to be if healthy.
I held mine in place (with gloves) for about 15 seconds and it attached. It's been moving around since then.

My tank has been setup for 10 weeks. So what's your advice on being successful with them since they're difficult? |

to be honest a 10 week tank is too new. way too new. anems need very stable tanks.
i would start with a mated pair of clownfish. get them into the tank (they will find something to host and she will spawn eggs. it will probbably be a rock). and then later on bring in the anem perhaps. they will jump to it like white on rice. thats just my .02 also a single clown will not host easily (esp tank bred). you need a mated pair. at least i have never had a single host anything before

The challenge with most host anemones is they don't acclimate well - thus the requirement for a mature tank. Once they've acclimated, they can handle variations pretty well. Sabae is not as hard as some, but harder than others. I'd be inclined to take it back if you can.
