Not sure if this is the right place to post, I have a thick green algae growing in one corner, but it is starting to spread, Never had it before. What does it mean and how to I get rid of it?
Thanks JEsse |

Have you checked your Nitrate and Phosphate? 1 or the other might be raising too high due to more import then export of nutrients.

Have you identified what type of algae it is? Some really aren't nutrient dependant as much as others( briposis) and some are relatively easy to control and eradicate. Have you got a level of n03/p04 recently? Do you have test kits?
Might want to look in the new to the hobby forums( although from your join date that's not the case =) as there is great write ups on dealing with algae and ways to reduce nutrients along with some links to identifying what type it is. There's numerous ways to control nitrates and phosphates from water changes to carbon dosing you need to find one that suits your tank and you the best . I suggest reading all you can and choose what you are willing to do over the long haul and what your in fact dealing with in general.
