Coralline Algae + Fan Worms
My tank is just around 60 days old and seems to be maturing nicely.
I started getting coralline algae growth (just a little) on my pump about 30 days in. Now I am starting to get some on my glass, mostly in areas I do not clean often (behind rocks, hard to reach, etc...) and in lower light areas. How is it removed from glass? What about removing fan worms? They are literally littering the same areas that I am starting to get the coralline algae. Thanks! |

You need a scraper or a credit card. If you have an acrylic tank it should be a plastic scraper if you have glass you can use a razor blade or metal scraper.

This is what I used and comes in good use cleaning the glass or you can get the one from Kent that has the handles on it for cheaper.

I wouldn't stress the worms, I think it's one of those population bursts you see in new tanks like pods and hydroids. When mine got ugly I knocked them off with a soft toothbrush, and after a while they subsided on their own. Something about the available food I guess? I think they are good for cleaning the water too.
