Stock Tank Idea
So, my idea is to turn a 150 gallon stock Tank into an aquarium. Has anyone tried this and had success? My plan:
A 150 gallon, 75x31x25, poly fish safe material with a 55 gallon sump, skimz skimmer sm202, and a little giant pump probably rated at around 1000 gph will make up the basics of the tank I may use some additional pumps, but I will probably use a splitter to spread the flow coming from the main pump Most everything will be hard plumbed, PVC Sand will most likely be fine as a cat shark will most likely find his way into the tank, bio load will be on the heavier side probably If I am missing any details please tell me, I am only in the planning phase so any advice is helpful

I don't use them as my main display tank but use them for my fuge and sump and they work out very well.
will you be doing a closed loop for flow or powerheads?

Check out my Avatar image... The biggest issue is Water movement on the surface and Lighting.... I have 4 - 1 INCH Bulkheads drilled around the top water level of mine . The water inlet from the sump is About 3 inches down Once you get that right its a kewl Different way to see the fish react to there environment...... mine is 150 gallons but soon .. Maybe Tomorrow Buying a 335 gallon Round Blue tank from Southern States. And tearing down the one next to my Display tank......
It can be done .. If your going to make this a Display type tank.. Masonite to make the Radius GLUED To 2x2 studs on top and Bottom plate made from plywood to get the perfect Radius... Good Luck its a neat project.
