How do you know if coral needs more light
Started a candy cane on the sand bed. Its under LEDs. What are some indications it would need to go up higher?

Generally when corals start to turn brown they need more light, when they start to bleach it can be from too much light.

I can't tell. They're tan. Would it hurt if I tried to raise them just to see?

IME, these corals are very low light corals and sensitive to LED"s. Your coral looks as blue as it is going to get and it is a very nice blue coral.

I'm by no means a great coral expert. But those look happy. Be patient and watch them. You'll notice changes over time that help you know what you need. -ryan

I dropped a rock on them yesterday so they're still a little ****ed. But if they look good there, I will leave them.

I'd be angry too if you dropped a rock on me. Seriously though, the corals look great (actually really great) and I'd leave them where they are.
