help identifing

I was wondering if this is something i need to be worried about or is it harmless

It's just a harmless sponge. No worries.

If you want to remove it though you should be able to pull it from the rocks with ease. If there's any left behind it will most likely grow back.

They can smother coral though so watch for over growth.....
