How hot does the pump run? When you put your hand on the pump, is it just luke warm? Or will your hand hurt if you touch it for too long?

I've never used a BH-90 or 100, but if pump is hot enough to hurt your hand when you touch it, I think you have a real problem. Time to get a new pump or skimmer IMO.

I don't remember mine (BH-2000) being hot but was slightly warmer than lukewarm -- certainly not enough to hurt (no matter how long you touched it).
