I just purchased a 180 gallon tank. What brand of sump is the best?
What quality brand sump is the best?
My sump will be totally stored in the cabinet beneath the tank. I have 3 Radion pro XR 30 lights. Thank you, |

IMHO, the very best sump you can buy is a empty tank (petco 1$/gallon sale) with a few baffles added. You can then make it to suit your specific situation - for my 120gDT, I used a 40 breeder divided into 3 sections - first is where the drain lines go and where the skimmer sits. The second is a small refugium area, and the 3rd is where the return pump sits and the dosing pumps lines are located. Total cost for the sump, including the 1/4" glass baffles was under $100

+1 as large as you can fit inside the stand.

Agree as big as you can fit in the stand. A lot of good sumps on the market (Eshopps, trigger systems, etc.) so it just depends what you want. The plain glass tanks ($1/gal. sale at petco) also work well for cheap.
