Noises from the tank: something fishy: what it might be...

I have had two, both audible 20 feet away: chime in with your own noisemakers...
a) sharp dull pop like a crack in glass: pistol shrimp, usually heard at tank dark.
b) sharp buzzing like a teacup rattling on a table: mature humbug damsel, aka golden domino, annoyed at a tankmate: usually during feeding.

Pair of mating pink skunk clowns. Both would croak like frogs. For almost a year I thought it was my vortechs going bad. Checked it and all is well. I would rapidly knock on my glass aquarium and they would croak even more.

My tank is bare bottom with a Gorilla glue rock wall. The hermits like to climb the back wall and when they lose their footing (I guess clawing, hermits don't have feet) it sounds like someone dropped a marble on the floor.

Everybody suspects a malfunction: first time I heard Miss Domino sound off I was sure a powerhead had come loose or eaten something it shouldn't.

I've got a conch that doesn't understand corners very well. They are not very agile, like they can't really go backwards or turn around. Instead, if they get stuck they sort of leap in the air (well, water) and hope the current blows them someplace better. This particular conch has figured out that detritus accumulates under a powerhead in the nook between my dual overflow and the corner. So he goes ther and eats it but then can't get out. He'll jump up and get blown against the glass over and over til I fish him out and set him back on clear sand. It takes him 3-4 days to get wedged back in there again.

Idk maybe he thinks it's exciting, like bungee jumping. It's loud when he bounces off the glass.

When my hermits are scurrying along the glass and their shell repeatedly taps against the glass. It sounds like small cracks.

The sound of a hermit crab falling onto the tile flooring. Apparently it climbed from the rock structure over to the powerhead and then up the powerhead cord. Luckily I was in the same room and heard it hit. Or else he would have dried up before I found it.
