Red face new 90 gallon tall aquarium set up

Hi there - not really new to the hobby but I feel like I'm in the dark ages and would love some input on what equipment to purchase for my new tank. I currently have a 46 gallon bowfront with no sump. I will be upgrading to a 48"x18" x20 or 24" tall tank in the next couple months. Super limited space in my house so this is the max I can get. I know it will be drilled for overflow to sump but besides that, soooo many options. I like the idea of C2C overflow and really like BeanAnimals overflow, just don't know if I have the room behind the tank for all the piping.

I'll be focusing on LPS and soft corals. I lean toward the more natural approach, algae filter, lots of pods, I like the system to have it's own ecosystem - love PaulB's reef setup. I've usually had a "sump" above my tank so the pods could free-flow back to tank but took it down due to a leak.

I live in a small town in Montana so don't have a lot of resources besides reading the net, and many RC threads. There is an aquarium club I just learned about 2.5 hours away.

Wondering about best circulation set up, don't want to see powerheads. Was planning on the Gyre150 but just saw MikeC120's tank and loved the flow. any suggestions would be great.

Lots of questions but I'll see if any of you have a few minutes to give me some feedback and what's worked for you.

Thanks,
Anna
