Skimz Quiet Pro 1.2 DC Pump Issues
Has anyone here use the Skimz Quiet Pro 1.2 DC pump?
https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/quiet...ump-skimz.html I'm having an issue where mine is like... turning on and off by itself and not drawing a lot of wattage. It's brand new. Not sure what's going on. Let me know if you guys have any ideas. Thanks, Joey |

Could it possibly be a defective outlet or maybe a defective pump? Even with quality control anything manufactured is still subject to defects. Could be something simple as well but just a thought.

Even with a variable flow setting it wouldn't just turn on and off like that though. Will the controller allow you to reset the pump or maybe just unplug it then plug it back in? If you go in and set it to run at one speed and it still continues to shut off it may be a faulty pump.

Ok it’s running at full speed now but something is up. I’m going to get a new one tomorrow and return this one. At least it’s working for the time being, I can cycle the tank in the mean time. Thanks everyone!

Called and it's actually a common problem with some of the earlier skimz pumps. They are replacing it with a new one. I got it running well for now so that will hold me over until the new one comes. Thanks everyone!
