Feed corals when they are looking for food?
Hello guys,
Does it make sense to feed corals when they have their sweepers out? I'd assume the feeding would be much more effective right? I understand it is a logistical issue cause they seem to have no schedule and not all do it at the same time, but just curious . I normally feed them reef roids 2 X week

Yes it makes more sense and they’ll get more food. Just try to minimize waste

Yes, it makes sense. In my case this happens about 30 minutes after lights out.

If you feed them they will come, Just feed with pumps off and you should get a response. I have my system set to off for 45 minute so everyone has time to feed.

I believe that extending the tenticles is done when food is sensed in the water column. The fact is corals do not need to be fed and will exist quite nicely with their food being furnished by lighting.
