Di resin
Please look at the attached picture and let me know if this normal looking. My TDS meter is now showing 3 or 4 and it looks like only half of the resin is spent. Any ideas? Thanks!

You cannot rely 100% on the color changing aspect of it..
However it could also just be channeling through a spot that wasn't as packed as it should be or similar and not getting treated fully.. Try repacking it and see how it goes from there..

since the water enters from the bottom, the cartridge should be getting brown on the bottom first...…. then, over time, the brown should work it's way up to the top. Your cartridge is showing brown in the middle ….that's not right....something is wrong but I don't know what...

Thanks for the replies. I have a new cartridge that I’ll fill up and see how it goes.

I agree that the resin was likely not packed tight enough, so the water is not contacting all of the resin as it should. This is causing it to exhaust the resin in the middle of the canister prematurely.

Yup... not packed tight enough. Fill it halfway, tamp it down... fill it more, tamp it down... repeat. It should change to brown from the bottom up.
