used tank and testing for copper

hey randy,

just wondering if there is any way to test a small tank i got recently to see if there is any residual copper that i have to worry about? if there is that would definately save me from getting another sump tank. This will be for a full blown sps/lps reef if that makes any difference.

There isn't a good way to test the tank itself, aside from filling it and checking for copper (which is only detectable if very high, it may still be too much and not readily detected with a kit).

If it is glass, I'd just clean it in a way to remove copper and use it. Here's a typical cleaning thread:
