Filter Sock

I have read that filter socks are felt. Could i just make my own filter sock with felt thats sold for crafts? Are they the same?

just check out filterbag.com they are really cheap about 2 bucks. I think filterbag.com is cheaper than filterbags .com. but you can check for yourself. I think my bags look different than felt at a craft store. But would they cost less than 2 bucks anyway.

how do you hook up a filter sock to the pipe from the overflow if it has a plastic ring?
