question

My protein skimmer is producing a lot of bubble and a lot of white foam....My nitrites are like 3.0 right now (cycling tank) is this teh cause of my skimmer acting weird????I have a jebo skimmer off of ebay

how long has the skimmer been running on the tank? sounds like it just needs some time...

Its been going for a day....I cant leave it on when i leave the house or sleep, it will overflow....I have to empty the cup every 45 minutes....teh bubbles are crazy taking up half of my 55

if it's been running for about a day i would give it time, it needs to break in. the crazy bubbles in your tank are microbubbles i assume? these too should calm down as the skimmer breaks in. does your collection cup have a drain fitting?

yes they are microbubbles....a drain fitting...ummm i dont know what that is....it is a cup with a hoe in it and thats about it
