It works great. Do a couple treatments to make sure you get all of the stragglers.

Here is some good info

It worked for me, but it's caused trouble for some. Be sure to have activated carbon ready, and maybe a lot of water for changes. Also, follow the instructions carefully. The dying flatworms can definitely poison a tank.

I used it, but the normal dosage didn't work, so I carboned it out, then did the well, nothing to lose, squirt a bit in method...

didn't loose anything, did have a net handy to scoop up the flatworms though, so that may be why. also, add the carbon as soon as the flatowrms start sliming up and coming off the rock.

if its still alive, it will hopefully be fine. If you do not see it, do not try to find it. it may be hiding. just LEAVE it alone

after much discussion with the members of RC & Habib over on the Salifert forum this what i came up with...

get some airline tubing and a filter sock. drop the end of the tubing w/ the filter sock in your sump (if you don't have a sump, you can use a bucket). get a siphon going with a PH...and suck out as many FW's as you can. i did this every day for about a week before i did my FWE treatment...this may be a little extreme, but i had a bad FW infestation in a small tank.

be sure to follow the directions to the letter EXCEPT when it comes to the dosing amount. i dosed 2x what the directions say for the first treatment, and 3x what the directions say to dose a week later for my second treatment. the FWE itself is not harmful to any tank inhabitants other then FW's, but the FW's are toxic when they die. using the increased dosage i had no problems with any corals, inverts, or fish...but the FW's didn't like it too much.

HTH

Can/should I dose everything for flatworms in my QT before adding to my display? I only have LR and LS in there now, but when (IF) I ever begin to cycle and get levels right, I would hate to introduce FW to the tank.

IMO...yes. much better to deal with FW's in a QT then in a display.

I dose all new corals with Flatworm eXit while they're still in the bag, too.
