So how many of you Have actually put a trigger in a reef?
just wondering. i know its a constantly asked question, but how many of you have successfully, or tried for that matter, to put a trigger in yuo reeftank. i recently read an older article in reefkeeping magazine about certain triggers being very good fish for reefs. especially the blue jaw triggers. thought it might be cool to get one as a last fish, i recently had a fish carpet surf and one go MIA so my bioload is minimal.

My blue jaw is in my reef, and is a model citizen. Doesn't nip at ANYTHING. He's shy, but has been coming out more and more, (I've had him about 6 months)

Blue jaw/throat, sargassum, pink tail, and crosshatch triggers are generally regarded as reefsafe for the most part.
Shrimp may not be safe, however.

ya i've heard that shrimp tend to get eaten. im just surprised that they dont go after clams though, but its good to hear they've been good with everything else. i know my tank is a little small for the minimum. i read that they need at very least a 4' wide tank, which i do have but i think it would eventually get a little cramped. i'm moving my tank into a different part of the house and im thinking about just moving everything to a bigger tank. thats where the trigger comes in. but thanks for the quick replies everyone! anyone else?

I've got a Niger in my reef (see Avatar) but he's still just a little guy, so who knows, and my stupid wrasse already took care of any potentially tempting shrimp.
