Question can selcon cause a cloudy tank

I have a 10 gallon QT running with two clowns and i have been feeding cyco-eese and mysis shrimp with selcon. My problem is my tank has become cloudy a little. I know the fish are eating all the food and i also do a water change every day. It seems like it is after i put the food in. Could it be the selcon im using.
thanks for anyhelp puffer21

It could be the Selcon as it mentions it right on the bottle. It states it will temporarily cloud the water for several hours. It also mentions to use less if it doesnt clear up overnight.

Hope it helps.....

I use selcon almost everyday in my 55 gallon, but ive never seen any cloud. I usually soak there food in it, then drop 1-2 drops directly into water column.

Ive seen stopped using it as much, as i think its causing my diatoms to hang around longer lol.

Its probably not the Selcon which you don't need in there. It's the food. A ten gallon tank can process almost no fish waste. The Selcon just adds to the pollution.

well i have to feed them so what do i do. there in QT which is why they are in a 10 gallon tank. There are two in there cause i heard that was fine(clowns). Now on with other fish there will only be one in the 10 gallon tank. Also is selcon bad i heard it was good. should i completey stop feeding it to them. even when they go in the main tank.

Selcon is good, you just don't need it in a quarintine tank. It is more for feeding corals and other microorganisims. I feed it to blackworms, gorgonians and new born brine shrimp. You have to feed your clownfish but in that small of a tank you have to get rid of the waste, the tank is too small to process it. You should only feed a little every other day. The cloudyness is bacteria from food, I know you change the water, but there is too much food in there weather the fish eat it or not, they willl eat everything you put in there but fish are different than us. We can only eat so much and we get full, fish will keep eating and if there is food in their intestines, they will eliminate it and eat more. That extra food that just went through your fish for no reason is causing the water to be cloudy, no other reason.
Is there any type of filter in there at all?

no filter at all? Thats why... You need an aged sponge filter at least for a qt tank to perform as it should. I would at least try running a hangon filter with carbon to help clear it up. I only use selcon on foods to my clowns because they showed signs of ich, I started using selcon, and its been a month with no signs anymore.
