Thanks jer77 and ZOKU, the sump ended up being a little over 45 gal with 1/3 sections. first is asm g-3 skimmer area through bubble trap to return section. The return section has two pumps, one for the refuge (296 gph) and the other is return (mag 700 gph) to the display tank ( Perfecto 150 gal. 48x24x30 with overflow box).
Display has two seio PH's 620 and 1500.
Like I said the refuge is only a couple months old and is all caulerpa. Started out with a small baggie worth of it and have harvested appox. a couple qt size bags of the grape caulerpa.

bergzy,
I am definaetly aware of these problems. I know caulerpa can always go sexual no matter what. I really don't keep that much of it so its not that much of a problem. I have little concern of it making it into my tank, it has before. In one tank it didn't grow much, and my other tank my tang ate it all. I had a tank full of it and it ate it all. I've had it go sexual before and I just take it out, nothing really happened. I guess I didn't have that much.
Anyways, I love your sump, and what are you growing in it now?

My sump is on a 55 gallon which I've had for a long time. Its only a 20g long. I have a 40 gallon sump on another tank which I haven't put a light on yet.

actually,

the bucket fuge is on my office tank and the system is just a fowlr.

here is the real thing before i took out about 1000 pounds of live rock since going full system zeovit.

what you're looking at is one of my lr holding tanks. the light is above my 'cage' refugium. it is just zip tied together eggcrate to keep the chaeto in place. in addition, the fan is on a temp controller set to turn on at 78 degrees for evap cooling.

my sump had about the same amount of rock too...only i had to somehow snake the rock around 3 skimmers...

i dont think my system is 'excessive' by any means!
