Pan World Pumps

I am looking to replace my little giant 4mdqx-sc for a pan world 100PX-X on my 150 reef for my returns. My little giant is OK as far as being quiet but adds heat to my tank. I don't want to change my plumbing and both have 1" inputs and returns. Can anyone using Pan world pumps give me there experience with this pump? Are they quiet and do they add heat to the tank? They say that Pan World is equal to Iwakis. Thanks

I guess I will have to look at another pump. Can anyone recommend a quiet and cool running pump? I need around 1200 to 1300 GPH pump. I know that the dart is a good pump but I would have enlarge my bulkhead and change my returns. I really don't want to get into that. Thanks

I would try that mod on your current pump before I changed and spent another $200 on a pump. That is what I was trying to say. HTH

The Iwaki 30rlxt does not have a fan, and is very quiet. The Velocity pumps are quiet, but run very hot. I guess If you run a chiller the Velocity pumps would be a good option for you, they are dead silent.

I run 2 Pan World 150-PS' and 1 100PX-X and they are extremely quiet, you hear the chiller over the pumps and the chiller is pretty quiet. I have also noticed no temp increase from them what so ever either.

Seems like people's experience with them varies but I've never had a problem at all with them. Great pumps IMO.
