20" Odyssea MH light
I was wondering if anyone has had or come accross any experiences about this light? Thinking about one for my 24 gallon aquapod.
Thanks

Wait until they change their name again, they are going to have built in smoke detectors that automatically phone th efire department when they start burning down your home. Seriously though half the people like them and the other half love them.

Oh, well I'd better stay away from that light. Thats probably why it's so inexpensive.

Its a piece of junk light that is made overseas with the cheapest parts. A lot of people report dead ballasts or dead bulbs after just a few days... Not to mention the reports of them starting on fire.

I run two of them, and have for some time, I would go with the 150 watt as there is only a limited amount of places to buy a 175 De bulb.

I came home one day and found the room is filled with burnt smell and the Odysea/Jebo ballast melted inside. when the ballast was opened, I was told I was lucky that it did not cause a fire. Don't buy Jebo/Odyssea, they are dangerous.

i just picked up a jebo/odd for free from another local reefer who got it brand new. it never worked out of the box and the reseller would not return his calls, so he got his money back via the CC comp and gave the fixture to me.
i took it appart and it appears to have been shipped w/ a dead ballast, anyway, i salvaged the bulbs, reflector, bulb holders, moon lights, etc. from it... btw, the moon lights are garbage...

I've 2 lights from them including the 20" 175MH and each light have some type of problem and they are very poor in terms of returning email or phone call but if you catch them on the phone then they ar not that bad inresolving your problem.
If you have extra to spend then go with better brand/customer service. |
