need advice on moving live rock

I need advice on moving live rock from one tank to another. I will be using live rock from a friends tank for my new setup. The rock in his tank is covered with hair alge. Is there a way to clean up the rock before I put it in my tank?
I am thinking about using a couple of large plastic containers to hold the live rick while I set up my tank.

You could scrub off the hair algae to remove some nutrients from the system. That's all that I'd do. Just try to keep the live rock in water as much as possible, and at a good temperature.

The plastic tubs will work fine for a few hours or so. If it's going to be much longer than that, I'd add a powerhead and a heater to each tub.
