Current USA Fixtures

I was wondering if this was a good fixture to get, its only $109.99. It doesnt have a fan, so it couldnt be too loud, I guess. I only keep some mushrooms and maybe some polyps in my 75. Here is the description from www.petsolutions.com

Current USA Satellite Powercompact Lights

Pairing together a 10,000k Daylight and 460nm Actinic with Current’s Lunar Light creates an energy-efficient, 24-hour lighting system that's packed with value. Configured with state-of-the-art, SunPaq Lamps, it produces 3-times the light output of standard fluorescents with double the life (12 months). Uses Japanese style square pin bulbs. Docking mounts included.

Thanks, guys.

I have used the Current USA lights from many years ( since they came out ) and they are very good units. The Satellite unit you are looking at will work just fine for your mushrooms and many soft corals. It is fan cooled and they can make a bit of noise but shouldn't be bad. It won't be enough for most hard corals though so weigh that if you think you may upgrade.

The Orbit might be another good choice. The fan is larger- 3".

I'm pretty sure that the Satellite sized for your 75 gallon does have a 2" fan. It might be worth springing for the dual bulb fixture. If not, that's a great price on a great light.

I've been very pleased with my Outer Orbit fixture. I did however have to replace the halide's ballast but other than that, i've never had a bit of trouble out of it. It's quite and looks great.
