moonlight suggestions

anyone have moonlight suggestions for a deep tank?? I've got a 175 bowfront (72" long) and have been looking for moonlights for several months now, but not sure what is going to look good/bright in a deep tank. Thanks in advance.

Yea but the submersable ones never work for very long. After a couple of months they go dead. Usually like 90% of the time.

Have you installed them? What do you think?! I see they are dimmable, which would be perfect, but are they really bright at their highest level? Let me know what you think of them. And thanks!

I am still working on my tank. IT will be about a month before I get everything finished. I would say they are fairly bright. When I bought them I was worried they might be too bright, but they just reminded me they are dimmable. I liked that it was a string of 8, i can spread it out across the hood.

Yea, I have looked at all those lights on the Premium Aquatics page, but I am looking for personal experiences. I'm just hoping someone who loves their moonlights can give me a suggestion.

And thanks drinkhomebrew for the recommendation!

ok- personal experience....
I got mine from here:
http://stores.ebay.com/DiGiKits-com-...nic-Components
I L O V E them!
My tank is 30 inches tall and the light is brite all the way down.
I like the way they are square because I was able to lay them on my
Eurobracing-one at the right front, one at the left back- plug and play!

Nice! I like the strip. That makes everything very simple, and just plug and play. They will be in my bedroom, so I have been looking into some dimmable ones, but I suppose if they are really bright, I can put them on a remote for when I go to bed.

So do they light up everything, evenly or is it more like a spotlight? How do they highlight colors? Do all your corals get a blue tint, or does it bring out the reds and oranges too? Sorry, lots of questions. I really liked the moonlights on my coralife setup, but they are just too expensive to purchase individually and I am looking for a similar look....

Thanks everyone!!

Actinics bring out the colours...these are just a blue-moon light like glow. my tank is only 36 inches across so the whole thing is evenly lit.
The lights make my tank look just like the pictures on the link.
Moonlights aren't actually needed.....just something to let you view the tank after lites out (i could be wrong). Mine are on 24 / 7
I don't have any corals at the moment (my live rock is due to arrive wednsday), but it looks great over the empty water filled tank!

Yea, I know they aren't needed but since the tank is in the bedroom, the most I get to see it is at night. So I want the moonlights just for the effect. I actually talked to the seller today and he said he can install a dimmer for a couple extra bucks if I am interested. Anyway, I think I might have found my new moonlights! Thanks scumonkey!!
