ball socket tubing question

okay guys i have a quick question:

i'm finishing my return from my sump and i was going to use these ball socket tubing on the ends of my pvc as the flow back into my tank: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...&N=2004+113794 the one i'd get is 3/4" and is letter A. I was wondering if i got that, got the 3/4" mpt connector ( letter E in the pic), would i then be able to just put those together and use that connector to connect to a female pvc adaptor? i wouldn't need that assembly tool that they have on the site would i? thanks guys..just don't want to buy it if it doesn't work, and i don't really know too much about this type of stuff.

thanks,
ryan

A and E will connect. The connecting tool makes life real easy.
