Cleaning a Mag 3
My Mag 3 that I use on my remora pro seems to have some blockage and it is not creating nearly enough flow to be effective. How do I clean the powerhear to make it work better?
Thanks in advance. |

Take it apart and soak it in vinegar and water. The higher the percentage of vinegar the faster it will be clean. If I am in a hurry - like on a skimmer pump I want back in service - I'll user straight vinegar and get it clean in a few hours.

How do you take it apart, simply unscrew the casing?

Just run it in vinegar solution (or even straight vinegar) in a bucket. Then, if it still needs more cleaning, you can open it up. IME, mags are a bit of a PITA to open, clean and put back together. I've always had great success cleaning by just running them overnight in vinegar.

Thanks for all of the advice. I'll try to run it overnight in a vinegar solution!
