Is this a good lighting schedule?
I just ordered timers for my CurrentUSA Orbit and I was wondering what your opinion of this schedule is:
Light Schedule Actinic On - 9:00am 10k On - 9:30am Actinic Off - 1:30pm Actinic On - 2:30pm 10k Off - 6:30pm Actinic Off - 7:00pm I will be keeping only very hardy soft corals. When will be a good time to start the schedule? I have just added the first half of my CUC and I don't want excessive algae growth. I have selected to turn off the actinic from 1:30 to 2:30 so it will have the same run time as the 10k (which starts 30 minutes later and ends 30 minutes sooner). |

I wouldnt turn off the actinict in the middle of the day like that. Might confuse some corals.

^Thanks.
Do you think the dawn/dusk effect is even necessary? I don't want to burn out one light faster than the other... |

I only have one 250w MH on my new system. I run it from 12pm to 11pm no dawn dusk thing going on. MY RBTA is the only thing in my tank atm and he loves it. I really don't think dawn dusk cycles really matter too much. Whne I had all PCs on my 120 I did have the actinicts on 15 mins before the 10ks. I really don't think it matters much though. Others might say different though.
