Living Color plug and play coral
Has any one ever used this stuff I am seriously thinking about re doing my reef tank and starting all over with the Living coral plug and play coral. Do to fighting a Hair algae problem for about a year and about $3,000.00 later in new filters and three fish aquarium guys. I am using RODI water that shows no Phosphate with sailfert test kits.my tank shows no Phosphate and my make up water shows no phosphates. I have a refugeum and nothing seem to kill it. I also have a small army of a clean up crew that does not work. so that's why i wont to switch over to the living color stuff From seeing some of the coral in high end hotels i am really really thinking about the switch over to living color Thanks

If you've decided to switch to plastic corals, you won't get much support here.
If you're willing to keep fighting the algae problem, then people here can definetly support and help you. You'll beat it eventually. It's your choice. ![]()

Get some of the giant mexican turbo snails and a sea hare. You will never see hair algae again. These are the only creatures that seem to love it...and I mean LOVE it. Those overpriced fake corals are for hotels..not homes. ![]() Good luck. |

patled,I just recently battled diatoms.I got rid of them and hair bloomed,I guess from the die off.I put 3 mexican turbos in my 65 gallon and got a Phosban reactor. The hair is almost gone. It's only in one spot now.I also tested 0 phosphates in my tank and top off.Check your nitrates and silicates in your tank and from your RO/DI.Also do you have a skimmer? What filters are you using?,some can be nitrate factories. You can beat this and quicker then you think.I know it's fustrating but when you start to see results,it seems to go away pretty quickly.

What is your light cycle? I was able to manage algae by limiting the MHs and ensuring my Calcium and Alk. were in check. Have alot of corraline, no hair algae.
