can i spray paint the back (outside) of a tank with acrylic lacquer?

thanks just about to do it

is the tank empty if so it would be ok just clean the glase real good ,if not the over spary wouldd get in the water that would not be to good.

What about if the tank is full? is there a safe way to do it or safer paint to use?
