SKimmate
im just wondering what good skimmate is supposed to look like. YOu may remmeber me making some threads about what replacement skimmer I should get in concern to my skimmer not producing the right skimmate. IF I'm correct in my conception, good skimmate should be brown or green and very vicous. In spite of that, I've seen some very watery skimmate thats either brown, yellow or green come out of many skimmers, including my own.
so what is good skimmate? |

Good skimmate is the type of skimmate you want. Most decent skimmers can be adjusted to pull anything from pudding to a lightly stained water. I prefer mine to pull on the light side, because while it needs to be emptied more often, it needs to be cleaned less.

Good skimmate depends on the skimmer. If you are looking to do your best with your skimmer, then ask for help on the particular brand/model.
Here is a day or so worth of skimmate from one of my needlewheel: |
