Room Divide 240g

I am going to build a room divide 240g tank. I know alot of you have done this before. I would like to know what you would have done differently if you were to do it over again. I am sort of stumped right now on my overflows. I know Ill have 4 overflow drains on the one side... but what about the other side?

OK, I'll try to explain my system. tank is 60X36X25 viewable on three sides. It is glass, so I wanted to minimize holes in tank, and did not want to place holes in the bottom to eliminate those slightly leaking bulkheads (only way to work on is to drain entire tank). I have two holes in the end for 11/2 inch drains. They are 5" from top. Linear overflow entire length of end (36"). There is a box inside tank 4"wide by 5" tall. Water overflows into the box, then out the two overflows. Outside the tank I have a "T" from the drain. This acts like a Durso overflow, and can be tuned by drilling holes in the cap, or using a air valve, just like Stockman or Durso. Return from sump goes like this: over the top split three ways. Two holes drilled in euro brace 7" from end (one on each side). Bulkhead with your favorite fitting to direct flow down along the end wall. The other return is at the other end and at the surface directed towards the overflow. This return has a Wavy Sea, which I like much better than my previous Sea Swirls. Circulation is provided by two Vortec pumps at the drain end below the linear overflow. Result is kind of a circular flow that goes down the overflow end, across the bottom, up the far wall, then towards the overflow end at the surface.

I have a 280 built in the real problem is keeping both sides clean twice the work

my main concern is where I should put the overflow, how much flow, size of bulk heads... how many bulkheads... how the current should flow... anything!

i have a large overflow on 1 end of my tank with 2 -2" stand pipes reduced down to 1 1/2" bulkheads feed by a iwaki 100rlt that go to a 65 gallon sump and 2- 1 1/2" stand pipes reduced down to 1" that go to a closed loop also feeds protein skimmer powered also by a iwaki 100 rlt pump also have 2 tunze 6080`s for extra flow

That is excellent... I figured I would need double that... 1" all around ... does that seem to do the trick with the returns? I am planning to go over the top with the returns instead of going through the bulkheads... so I figured 2" bulkheads x2 reduced to ID 1 1/4" overflows and dual one inch returns.... do you think that would be sufficient? Or should I have more holes drilled?

ok... how is 4 2" holes for drainage... I think that should do the trick... How do I measure the length of my overflow box though?

why do you need 4 two in holes for drainage? How much flow will you be pushing through there?

If you have the room, try to get a 300g that's 30 in deep. The added depth (front/back) will make it a LOT easier to put rocks in there & do all that stuff.

I just finished installing a 1000 gallon tank (10x5x3) which used a hammerhead as the return pump & we used 2 2-in drains.
