fix my euroreef collection cup!
guys...i bought a used euroreef 8-3 skimmer and the seller neglected to tell me the collection cup is no longer attached to the riser. it appears the weldon or whatever they used in construction has totally failed and the collection cup will literally slide up and down on the riser tube. can i just buy some weldon and shoot it on there or am i going to have to fork out $130 for a new cup? if i can use some weldon, what ? do i use? any help is appreciated.
thanks mike |

Yes, it should be repairable, but what to use will depend on the series of the skimmer, and the materials its made of. Some of the skimmers are all acrylic, while some mix acrylic and PVC sheet. I think ER uses a heat welding process on some of their skimmers as well. The common weld-on products for acrylic won't work very well for a PVC to acrylic bond. I think weld-on 42 (a 2 part glue) might be the one you want in that case, but I have no personal experience with it.
