tank heat with Rena, For the pro's
does the Rena xp2 create heat? my ambient temp is 54.5 deg. in my house where I have the tank.
In my tank, without a heater it is 74.5 deg. That was in the morning after the lights have been out for 12 hours. 130w coral life. During the day when the lights are on, the temp. will rise to 77.5 deg. with the ambient temp being 68 deg. This tank is going to be for seahorses. please note these temp. readings are with the same probe. I also checked the temp. with a murcury type themometer and they concur My other tank is 77.5 to 78.5 constant with a heater but I have two 150 Penguins hang on's for the filtration. thank you for the help Kevin |

It will generate some heat but it should be negligible as the water will cool as it travels back to the tank.

I have a Rena XP2. To my knowledge it doesn't create any noticable heat. I agree with serpentman.
