Rubbermaid Brute barrels?

Can these barrels be used in saltwater applications? I'm thinking about using a 20g barrel for added water volume on my system.

New and not before used ones are OK. I have used them, and still do.

If you are refering to the garbage cans, then yes, they are made of a food grade plastic and are reef safe. Most here use it to either store RO/DI water and/or SW. Can also cure liverock in there.
