New Plumbing
I am not new to reef tanks but I am new to sumps and plumbing. I have a 90 gallon tank that I bought used.
![]() It has two, 1.75 inch drains in a corner overflow. Here is a shot of both holes looking up from the stand. ![]() Here is a shot of the sump I will be using. It is 36X12X12. ![]() I am using a Quiet One 4000 pump for my return. It does 1017 gph and has 1 inch MPT in/out. The previous owner used a Durso standpipe and I plan on duplicating this. I will be honest; I have no idea about plumbing: bulkheads, unions and ball valves make my head kind of swim. So...what kind of bulkheads should I be using? Any thoughts on this setup? Hell...I am looking for specific ideas ![]() Thanks guys/gals. Last edited by badpvtdan; 02/04/2007 at 10:46 AM. |

Those holes are for 1" bulkheads. This page lists a lot of parts:
http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_..._strainers.asp I'd probably use a slip fitting to hold the standpipe, and a more secure fitting for the actual line to the sump.
